Suilven 03:25
I told my dad I’d climb that hill That he said was too big for me when I was a girl Twenty miles along my life it shows How far into these boots I’ve grown And I hate it, halfway up this hill Oh I hate it It was my bright idea To be a part of this midge ridden mess A stowaway blister living in my boots Oh I’ve had it with these pests And I hate it, halfway up this hill Oh I hate it, halfway up this hill Can’t take it trampling on my will You’ll see me on top of this hill Last stop before I turn around Aches and pains are memories But I’m still a child Anchored by the cairn to the ground And I’ve struggled to realise now Struggle’s the reason I’m found The reason I’m found Halfway up this hill

Great Stone 02:45
Dusty are my fingers Muddied my bog cotton socks Etched upon my eyeline Three hushed giants asleep From this height, I can see All the colours and grooves of the hills in the sky Longer grows my shadow As I step to the top cars passing by A world away, from when we played On the great stone From this height, I can see All the colours and grooves of the hills in the sky All the while, I have been Enamoured by others, who have different colours and grooves of the hills in the sky Cold children play Score their names Old childlike ways Dwell on those days All the while, I have been Enamoured by others, who have different colours and grooves of the hills in the sky As the day’s, burning out I feel for no other, but familiar colours and grooves of the hills in the sky Colours and grooves of the hills in my sky

For you, I’ll bring the tide in For you, I’ll bring the tide in Sleep out by the waves Where I spent my childhood days For you, I’ll bring the tide in For you, I’ll bring the tide in With you I’ve never known those storms Where the fish hide and the boat masts howl and groan For you, I’ll bring the tide in For you, I’ll bring the tide in Years pass, time plods on Under those skies I don’t know where you’ve gone For you, I’ll bring the tide in For you, I’ll bring the tide in

Moors 02:24
Out there, the world it waits for me The moors they swallow Caught in my mind, hang it out on the line But the cloud keeps me Heather strewn, cobble like in a street It trips me as I pass Coarse through my feet, flowered lines cut deep But the cloud keeps me

about

‘Bring The Tide In’ is a collection of songs written from a place of longing and nostalgia. Childhood memories and growth sway through this EP in a way that I didn’t expect they would. These songs share stories of my own, each strongly tied to a location or place that has felt poignant during my life.
